A new year for new things

2006 should prove to be a wonderful year. I've already realized, however, that I messed up and somehow screwed up the date on this blog that was actually written on January 4th. However, allow me to introduce myself to you all. My name is Lane Widick. I am 27 years old (going on 28 in February), live in Olive Branch, MS, and I work for the greatest youth ministry in the world at the Ross Road Church of Christ in Memphis, TN.

I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world. Her name is Kristen. She used to play volleyball for Freed Hardeman. She was a youth ministry intern at Mayfair, where one of my best friends, Jason, is a youth minister. She is a teacher at Christ the Rock Academy, and also works part time at a Yankee Candle Store in Collierville, TN.

I work for the Lord's church. It is an awesome and wonderful responsibility. I am excited about how God has shown me where to go each and every step of the way when I ask for guidance. I like the Alabama Crimson Tide, the New York Yankees, the Tennessee Titans, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. I don't eat any kind of nut, I despise mayonaise with a passion, and will not eat Chinese food.

I have a wonderful family that loves God. A tremendous father who has always been a shining example, and a mother who always loved me no matter what. I have a wonderful brother and sister, who are married to great people, and who also have wonderful children. I have Five neices and nephews total (no little ones for us yet though!)

My pride and joy right now is our little black pug Chloe. She is delight and joy in our lives. She is just so stinkin funny when she throws things up in the air while she's playing. She has a basket she keeps her toys in, but she loves to dump them all out, flip the basket over, and push the basket around for hours!

Ultimately, I love God. I love God for giving me so many wonderful blessings. All of the above things don't even begin to describe how awesome He truly is to me. I don't deserve all that I have, but I cherish it because it is a gift from God.

God bless us all.
